Anthony Jose Hernandez was born in San Antonio, Texas, and has lived in San Antonio for most of his life. Has lived in Laredo, Corpus Christi, Austin, and on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. He has served as a public safety officer in police, fire, and EMS. He was a member of the Texas Military Forces as a sergeant in responding to disasters, unique events, and border protection operations. He volunteered for the American Red Cross for twenty-eight years. He served for several years as a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and an instructor.
He attended San Antonio College and received his associate degree in applied science in Criminal Justice. He then attended Grand Canyon University and received his Bachelor of Science in Public Safety and Emergency Management. He then received a master’s in public administration, his final degree from Grand Canyon University, and a master’s in leadership in Business.
He last attended American Military University and received a Master of Arts in Disaster and Emergency Management with a concentration in sustainability, resilience, and community rebuilding. He also participated at the Emergency Management Institute and Homeland Security. He visited European castles, parks, botanical gardens, and train systems. He has traveled through forty-four states in the U.S. He has taught English to beginners in small groups, one-to-one, and online. His interests include writing short articles on websites like LinkedIn, photography, and playing the guitar, harmonica, and Native American flute.

He has been involved in his native culture by attending religious ceremonies and Native American Pow Wows, which are socially public events. His passion is traveling around the world to learn about people, cultures, music, foods, and tour sites. This will be the first time he has authored a book, and he hopes to write several other books in the future. He hopes to move to Europe one day to continue authoring books and short story articles.
